(Heb. אַשְׁכָּבָה; “laying to rest”): Sephardic term for the memorial prayer said at the graveside, Yom Kippur, and anniversary of the dead. Text used today by Western Sephardic communities appears on De Sola Pool, Book of Prayer (1954), 206–7.
