(d. 1726). Isaac Haim Senior lived on the island of Curaçao and is buried in Beit Haim Cemetery, Blenheim. Isaac was the husband of Rachel Senior, who was the daughter of Isaac de Marchena and Sarah Carilho. His son Mordehay died a little over a month after he did. Isaac’s father was David Senior, and he was undoubtedly named for his uncle who died in an epidemic 1693 (Emmanuel Precious Stones, 58, 126, 183, 244, 282-83, 305, 516). Isaac’s elaborate gravestone features King David playing the harp on the top panel along with a Rabbinical figure, most likely modeled on Rabbi Isaac Aboab da Fonseca. The bottom panel depicts a deathbed scene. Isaac’s father also had King David on his tombstone (probably due to his name). The family had a house in town near the synagogue, but also owned a plantation called Habaai (below).
