(1798-1828) The daughter of Abraham Rodrigues Brandon and Sarah Esther Gill, Sarah was born in Barbados and died in New York. She had ten children, one of whom died as an infant. Although she was born enslaved, her children became Civil War heroes, famous doctors, and even the parnas of Shearith Israel in New York.
