founded by Benjamin Franklin in 1743, “APS” is the nation’s oldest learned society. It was an important place for early Americans to share medical and scientific knowledge and it had (and has) an important library collection. Jewish members included David Cohen Nassy. Today the library has important records related to early Jews in Philadelphia.
