One of the five scrolls of the Hebrew Bible (Song of Songs, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, and Esther), but also the Tractate of the Mishnah that is about the laws of Purim. Jewish wills from colonial America sometimes reveal to whom a megillah would be left. Typically they meant a Megillah Esther.
