(1790-1861). A Jewish merchant who although born in London, spent many years working between Suriname and Barbados. His receipt book kept between 1813-1837 is in the collection of AJHS. It contains a wealth of information about Jews from this era. He later became the president of congregation Mikveh Israel in Philadelphia. He is the father of Mrs. J. Finsi.
