(Hebrew:  ישיבות)‎ are Jewish educational institution that focus on the study of traditional religious texts, primarily the Talmud and the Torah, and Halacha (Jewish law). One of the most prestigious yeshivot in Amsterdam was the Ets Haim, which today is a famous library. Many of their beautiful books and manuscripts can be seen online, including the original of the poem that Rabbi Isaac Aboab da Fonseca wrote about the fall of Recife.
