Yoruba

An ethnic group from western Africa, in what today is Nigeria and Benin. There are nearly 44 million Yoruba people today! Yoruba religion and story telling had a tremendous impact on African American culture throughout the Americas.  The Yoruba are also famous for their weaving and food.
